Mark Harman – Clubfitting for Golf Coaches
Mark started working with the USGTF in 1991 and has served as its national course director since 1993. He is also a regular contributor to Golf Teaching Pro, the official publication of the World Golf Teachers Federation. An accomplished player, Mark is a five-time champion of the United States Golf Teachers Cup, a two-time individual champion of the World Golf Teachers Cup, and has won six other professional tournaments. He resides in Ridgeland, South Carolina, with his wife Coyne LaMoreaux and their two sons, Chrysogonus and Michael.
Steve Williams – Coaching a Tour Player
Steve has been a USGTF examiner since 1997, and regards joining the USGTF as a pivotal move in much of his success. He has worked with numerous touring pros, including J. L. Lewis, who won over $2 million on the PGA Tour in 2002; Warrick Druian, who beat many of the best players in the world to win the 2004 South African PGA Championship; and, trained Clayton Burger for the six weeks prior to him winning the 2003 Remax World Long Drive Championship.
In Steve’s own words, “There is no higher calling in golf than to teach people not only how to swing the club in the manner that is best for them, but to impart to them the finest traditions of the game!” Steve owns The Texas Golf Academy and resides in Houston, Texas.
Arlen Bento Jr. – Understanding Fitness and Biomechanics for the Golf Coach
Arlen is a longtime USGTF member. He is the former head professional of PGA Country Club in Port St. Lucie Florida and the Director of Golf at Eagle Marsh Country Club in Jensen Beach. He has won three national awards in the golf industry including two Golf Digest “Four Star” awards and one Golf Shop Operations “Service Ace” for customer service.
Arlen started his career in the golf business as an Assistant Golf Professional in Hawaii after graduating from the University of Hawaii with a degree in Political Science with emphasis is Economics and Speech Communication.
Currently Arlen is the owner of ABJ Golf Sales. ABJ Golf Sales is a golf industry sales and marketing business that represents many different companies in South East Florida. Arlen and his professional sales staff sell products and provide event services to over 40 golf retail stores and 180 golf courses.
Dr. Gregg Steinberg – Understanding Sports Psychology
Dr. Gregg Steinberg is the official USGTF sports psychologist and a longtime USGTF member. He is also a distinguished speaker and author on the subject (Mental Rules of Golf). Currently, Dr. Steinberg is an associate professor at Austin Peay State University in Tennessee. Dr. Steinberg created the first and only instructional DVD on the subject of golf psychology for golf teaching professionals. He is the author of several other books, is in high demand as a motivational speaker, and has appeared on numerous national television and radio programs.
Ronald L. Mann, Ph.D. – Golf Coaching Excellence
Dr. Mann is a Level III USGTF member, bestselling author, and international speaker. He has a doctorate in clinical psychology, and is a certified meditation teacher. He practiced as a clinical psychologist for more than thirty years. He has written several books on personal development and sports performance:

Ben Bryant – Coaching a High School Golf Team
Ben Bryant teaches history at Alonso High School in Tampa, Florida. He is the head coach of both the golf and tennis teams. Ben holds two degrees from the University of Florida, including a Master’s in Secondary Education. Additionally, Ben is a Level IV member of the USGTF and is on the advisory staff of the USGTF and the World Golf Coaches Alliance.
Mathew Hartley – Mental Aspects of Coaching Golf – Training Your Mind part 1 & 2
Mathew Hartley is the founder of Easy golf mind, set up to help golfers on the mental aspect of their game. After 4 years experience as a therapist helping people overcome challenges in their life, Mathew saw the correlation to begin to use the same techniques in the golfing arena. Originally from South Africa, Mathew now lives in London, and works with both amateur and professional golfers by conducting seminars at clubs and coaching on a one to one basis.
Art Gelow – Coaching Golf at the Collegiate Level
Art is entering his eleventh season as the head men’s and women’s golf team at Savannah State University. Since coming to Savannah State, his teams have claimed 12 Division I golf tournament titles and have finished in the top five at the National Tournament six out of the last seven years. As a professional golf player, Gelow played tour golf for 13 years, winning over 40 times on the Southeast Senior Tour. He won the Saginaw Golf Invitational “Best Ball” four times.
Gelow received a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Dakota in 1969, and later earned a master’s degree from South Dakota State.
Dr. Bill Rice – Nutrition for Golf Coaches
Dr. Bill Rice is a chiropractor and nutritional consultant in West Palm Beach Florida. He has been in practice since 1977 and has appeared on numerous TV and radio programs promoting nutritional and wholistic health. He is an active member of the professional community, and past researcher for the Mt. Sinai Hospital and the Center for Wholistic Health, Education and Research.
